Framing The Sky
David Maria d’Olimpio

A square skylight in the living room of a brownstone in Brooklyn lent itself to a custom designed lighting fixture to frame the opening. I used my background in lighting design to lead the project from concept drawings to fabrication and install.
The collapsing brass frames give off accent, ambient, and task light within one fixture through independently controlled LED strips. From below the fixture presents as a single frame. From the side two interlocking brass cubes.
